Wilhelm Scream

S. Weasel describes the history of this classic movie element so I thought I'd pile on:

That calls for a Wilhelm scream!

I can't stand when I hear previously used sound effects.

You probably know then that I must not be able to stand most television and movies.

Wow, you must live in a special kind of hell.

Or maybe you are more enlightened than the rest of us.

Now, can you teach me how to kick ass at Dwarven Fortress?

I can teach you to kill dwarves in very interesting ways...

Last time I located a bottomless pit, built a "plank" extension of floor that went to the middle of the pit, then set up a drawbridge with lever, stationed a dwarf on the bridge, and ordered the lever pulled, catapulting the stationed dwarf into the air, and into the bottomless pit.

Then I removed the bridge and replaced it with a trap door closed off by bars, and posted a dwarf onto the trap door, and trapped him there. Then I gathered everyone to watch the execution and pulled the lever.

I'm really having too much fun with that game...
